DDLL CHALLENGER SHARKS

The Challenger Division provides boys and girls with physical or mental disabilities, ages 5 to 21 an opportunity to play baseball regardless of their limitations. This affords them the opportunity during the Spring and early Summer months to experience the emotional development and fun of playing Little League Baseball. Players are assisted by “Peer Buddies” from DVHS. This Division of the League is a supervised, volunteer based, non-competitive structured athletic program. We are sanctioned and insured by Dingman Delaware Little League. Challenger Baseball is chartered by the United States Congress as an educational program.

All games are non-competitive and played on Sunday afternoon. All players will receive a shirt, hat and an award at the end of the season.

IMG_4352-crop The good folks at Skylands Stadium, home of the Sussex County Miners CANAM Baseball team in Augusta, NJ welcomed two Pike County Challenger Division Little League Baseball Teams to play on their field. It was a hot day, but all the players were ready for some baseball and to see themselves up on the jumbo screen. The Challenger division is for individuals with special needs ages 5 and up.  The Challenger Motto is "a chance for kids to come together as a team and be cheered. "We don't count outs and we don't count runs. Everybody plays. Everybody scores. Everybody wins".

Pike Autism Support Services would like to thank the Pike County Bar Association for sponsoring both Challenger teams and their support.
